“100 years independence, 100 hours carnivals”: Turned to a tradition of many decades, the carnivals in Shkodra are expected to create a festive atmosphere in the city on February 18 to 21. Shkodra citizens and guests who will fill the city streets will be part of the celebrations in which masks and costumes, music, humor, food and beverages will have no end. Speakers who will lead the carnival will be directed to the citizens by putting into play and ridiculing bad habbits of society. According to organizers, this year's carnival, by art, will have a special structure. Also suits and coats will be special and particular, with the traditional combination of local and global. City streets and especially the old road in the middle of the city, and many local bars and restaurants, will be enlivened by the influx of visitors, who will associate with many surprises and fun. “BOGUJEVCI // Visual History homage’s for all victims of Kosovo’s war National Gallery of Arts 13 years after the members of Bogujevci family were slaughtered in their backyard, 5 of their children, who luckily survived: Fatos, Jehona, Liria, Genci and Saranda have decided to show the world the massacre that took their, mothers’, brothers’ and sisters’ lives in Podujeva. After Pristina they have brought in Tirana an exhibition in the National Gallery of Arts. The exhibition ‘’BOGUJEVCI // Visual History ‘’ is composed by four installations (“Living Room”, “Family branch”, “Hospital room” and “Judgment room”) where you can see entirely original tapes, interviews, photos and personal stuff. This exhibition, besides it documentary character, can be seen as an artistic answer against violence. The exhibition “Bogujevci, Visual History” will be in this gallery until March 2nd.
